“We’re going to continue supporting StarCraft II in the same manner as we have with our previous longstanding games, such as Brood War, focusing primarily on what our core and competitive communities care about most,” Bridenbecker said in a post on the Blizzard website.
The StarCraft team will instead focus on “season rolls and necessary balance fixes,” said Blizzard executive producer and vice president Rob Bridenbecker, as well as “what’s next” for the StarCraft franchise. Blizzard Entertainment is ending new content development on StarCraft 2, the sci-fi real-time strategy game that first launched in 2010 with StarCraft 2: Wings of Liberty.
