In a way, the boy who is the bully and the boy who was the victim really aren't that different. It shows that the boy in the bubble is trying be empathetic. The bully is dealing with his drunk and abusive father. Then there's the part in which perspective is reversed. He says that the he doesn't fight back to give the bully the satisfaction. And rather than fighting back, he simply let the bully beat him. The boy in the bubble, the boy getting bullied, clearly feels alone in some way, given the bubble.
